Saw Conquered the Big Screen—Now It Has to Survive the Console
Gaming franchises have spent years moving from consoles to movie theaters and television screens. Saw: Genesis is attempting the reverse journey.
Announced at Summer Game Fest on June 5, 2026, the new game turns the successful horror-film franchise into a three-versus-one multiplayer experience. Three players must survive while a fourth becomes the Judge—a brutal predecessor to Jigsaw who controls the traps and decides how the nightmare unfolds. The game is currently announced for PC, with an Early Access release planned first.
On paper, Saw feels built for gaming. The movies already revolve around puzzles, timed decisions, moral choices and people desperately trying to escape impossible situations. But watching someone face a trap is very different from being responsible for the decision yourself.
That is also where the risk begins.
A famous movie license may attract horror fans, but recognizable characters and gruesome traps will not automatically create a good game. The multiplayer needs to feel balanced, the puzzles must remain interesting and every match needs enough tension to keep players returning after the shock value wears off.
Movie fans may show up because they recognize Saw. Gamers will stay only if the experience is worth surviving.

That makes the No Prob-Llama, Stacking Dubs hoodie a fitting choice. Escaping one trap, solving one puzzle and surviving one more round all count as another win stacked on the last—even when the victory looks slightly traumatized.
Saw already conquered the big screen. Now it must prove that its particular brand of horror can survive when gamers control the outcome.
